LQJO travel to Taiwan Day 6 - Shi Fen -> Jiu Fen -> Ximending

13.10.15

Took train from XMD to Taipei main station. There were directions leading us to TRA train.Easycard can be used to have access to TRA train and it cost NT44 to RuiFang. We were confused at first when we saw people queueing up to buy tickets for TRA train. But we enquired the staff there and was told that we can just tapped in.And there you go the train schedule. We were confused by the blue, orange red lines and we have to head to Rui Fang. We actually took the wrong train...took the train to Keelung instead of Rui Fang.Luckily, we were able to alight at number 7, as seen in the train schedule picture and transfer the train which goes straight to Rui Fang.So guys...remember to spot the train that says 1184 and labelled Rui Fang.LOL

Actually, I figured out that the fastest way to get to Ruifang is also by getting on the train to the red line which head to Badu then switch to blue line to Rui Fang. But safer way is still stick to the blue line.

Wefie while waiting for the train for 45 mins. While also frreaking out because we were kinda lost..and noone we could ask for help.

Trained to Rui Fang, the seats were all taken up so we stand throughout the whole journey.

We then had to walked to the PingXi line to purchase the tickets. The ticket cost NT80 each. It's weird cos all of us were directed out to the gate to purchase the tickets and back to the gate for the train.People can actually just get in the train without purchasing those tickets. Anyway, behind the tickets is the Pingxi line map. The train move quite slow and we were able to enjoy the scenery.

We finally reached Shi Fen.

This is how it looks like.Sorry for the distorted panorama view,

Lots of lantern key chains w/o led lights were selling at this price -NT230

Pretty Wooden Mail card sold for NT90

Cute but expensive gift shop

We walked pass all the sky lantern shop, looking at what people write and if there were people helping to take shots of us releasing the sky lantern. We decided to choose this shop. The staff were very nice and friendly.

The price of the sky lantern. We paid NT$200 for rainbow sides sky lantern.
pink-blue-yello-red = happiness-career-money-health

Bf drew hearts all over our lantern.

Looking so serious..

Everyone had to move away from the track when he train passes. There will be signals so not too worry, all lanterns won't be affected.

TADA!! Our artpiece.
I made some research on some chinese words and what to write before flying over to taiwan.
This save us some time, otherwise we can spend 2 hours there...
Even with the planned sentence, we spend 45mins down there!

Time to release the sky lantern!~
We totally love their friendly service, even their photography skills are so good. :)

The lantern starts to float when the fire lits up.

And we released the sky lantern.
Hahaha i looked stupid, was super amazed at the sky lantern,i stared at it with awe,

And a video of it.Fly sky lantern fly~

Here's not the end of it,the staff actually ask us to do some pose after we successfully release the lantern.

And asked us to kiss.LOL. i'm so shy about it.But we kissed.

The Dan Zhu shui.My sister wanted the marble and so we drank it.

Don't know when was this taken but i think it's cool

At the Jing an bridge, but we didn't go to the Shi Fen waterfall as we were behind time.

The guy just photobombed us.

BF trying to grab the train.

My bf modelling on the bridge

one final shot of us at the track before we took Pingxi train back to RuiFang station/

So the train will arrive in 30 mins and it's still early,so we walked the souvenir shop.Chanced upon the wooden curve board stall and decided to do two for ourselves.Bought the board separately. We took lots of wefie and selfie before passing to the person to curved our faces on it.

Blogger don't allow me to rotate the photo,so tilt your head :)
The price of carving your face is shown on the board.Hope is reliable and will mail to us our boards.

We saw this stall with long queue, there's no bone to the chicken, instead it's stuffed with rice.It looks delicious and it's delicious!Buy this guys!

Shifen waterfall park opening hours, but we didn't went there.

Trained back to Ruifang station

Walked to the left and out of the station.

We asked the bus driver for the bus to Jiufen. To walked to the busstop, see the below picture?i'm facing the street.Walked towards the white bus and turn left, walk straight ahead till you see the police station.Cross the road and there is a bustop at the police station.Asked the bus if he/she is going to Jiu Fen.

The journey to JiuFen was quite scary because it's like a trip to Genting. The slope is steep and narrow and it's 2 way.Very dangerous.Look it's this high up.

Walking towards JiuFen old street

Went in the street and our hunt for good food begins...

The icecream popiah (NT40 each) - Delicious

Grilled Mushroom (NT100) - Don't buy.Not nice

Some Yam Kueh (Forgot to capture price) -Can try, still not bad.
There is 4 flavours -Green bean, red bean,i cannot figure out the 3rd flavour and another one is original flavour, yam. We ordered green bean keuh and yam kueh.

The Ah Po taro ball,we ordered the cold one.(NT45) - Tasted good

There is a seating area at the left for us to eat the taro balls.

Then we were welcome by the beautiful view of Jiu Fen.

Sit down and have a cup of tea and enjoy the mountain view.Because we were rushing for time,we didn't had it.If's not it's perfect.

It's 5pm and the sky is all dark, it feels like 9pm at singapore.

We took bus back to Ruifang MRT and then trained back to XMD from Taipei main station

We ate more food at XMD.

THE SHAVED ICE

THE BITTER GOURD DRINK - SUPER GOOD!!!
Thought it will be bitter..you know...but it has this sweet fragrance,it indescribable.
